Currently, what tlo you fe¢I are the biggest Issues Yucaipa teens encounterT Because I'm homeschooled, and not in the public school system, 1 cannot say what the biggest issues the average teenager in Yucaipa encounters. However, when observing my own homeschool community, 1 don't see what 1've read online what public school teenagers are facing, such as bullying and social media pressure. 1 see within my community encouragement, lasting friendship, and a willingness to serve one another.
Name one person wha has inspiretl you antl bst the qualities you admire about [ha[ person.
The person that comes to mind is the late Charlie Kirk. Charlie was passionate, knowledgeable, brave, and Intelligent. He worked and gave his life defending his faith and the conservative movement.
Please Ilst any eMra-curricular aRivities in wM1ich you participate.
I participate in a speech antl debate club once a week antl tournaments about once a month, all during the school season. I am also part of the yearbook club that gets together every other week. Lastly, 1 attend a church youth group every Wednesday evening.
What can Me Youth Ativisary <ommitte¢ do [o improve local t¢en's quality of IifeP Basetl on what I heard as a guest at the YAC meeting 1 attended, 1 heard they had events for encouragement and kindness. This sparked the peak of my interest in joining this committee, because I believe these are what Yucaipa teens need the most_

Attn: Selection Committee for the Yucaipa Youth Advisory Council Ra: Isla Avalos
Dear Selection Committee,
1 am pleased to recommend Isla Avalos for the Yucaipa Youth Advisory Council. 1 have known Isla for the past three years both in my role as administrator for the school and as a coach at the speech and debate club she is part of, and I can confidently say that Isla Is a remarkable young woman of strong character, integrity, and dedication. Through these years have watched her demonstrate maturity, leadership, and a sincere desire to contribute meaningfully to her community.
Isla Is a thoughtful and articulate young lady who is eager to learn how systems work and how she can use her voice to make a positive difference. She is not only responsible and reliable, but she also approaches challenges with curiosity and a willingness to listen which I believe is a vital skill for anyone engaging with city processes and public dialogue.
What sets her apart is her natural strength as a communicator. She expresses her ideas clearly, respectfully, and confidently, and she has a genuine Interest in understanding the perspectives of others. These qualities make her well suited to serve as an affective spokesperson for the youth of Yucaipa. Sha leads by example, seeks solutions rather than spotlight, and consistently shows integrity in how she carries herself. am confident that Isla would be a valuable addition to Yucaipa Youth Advisory Council.
She has the passion, character, and work ethic to grow through this opportunity and to represent the program with excellence. I fully support her application and believe she will make positive contributions to both the program and the community. Please feel free to contact ma should you need any more information.
Sincerely,
Caryl Jones

Currently, what tlo you f¢el are the blgg¢st Issues Yucaipa teens encounter") The biggest issues that I think Yucaipa teens face is the overuse of screen time and boredom. There is overall nothing to do in Yucaipa for teens besides walking around with friends or just sitting at the park. Those two activities have become repetitively tiresome so teens prefer screens, which is not good for their health.
Name o e person who Fas mspiretl yo and list th¢ quali[ies you atlmue about that person.
One person who has inspired me is my mom because she is the complete opposite of me, she's hard-working, kind and manages her anger like no one else 1•ve ever seen.
Pleas¢ list any extra -curricular ac[iviiies in whiuh you participa[a.
Volunteer work for YAPS and at the Ilbra ry.
What can the Youth Ativisory Committee do [o improve local teen's quality pf life? Provide more clubs, more volunteering options and a official place for teens to hang out together.

Dear Selection Panel
I am writing this reference letter at the request of Raven VanHook who is applying for a position on the Yucaipa Youth Advisory Committee. I have known Raven for the past year in my capacity as a teacher at Yucaipa High School. During this time, I have observed Raven's growth not only as a student, but as a young person through her acts of teamwork, determination, and reliability.
Raven has a deep interest in journalism, and public service. Her ability to work with others in the classroom and on the athletic Field have prepared her for a career in either of these career paths.
Additionally, she has exhibited art excellent work ethic which is highlighted by her ability to focus on improvement through her unwavering determination. I have witnessed Raven's personal growth in all three of these areas during her time in my Learning Center class this past school year.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend Raven for a position on the Youth Advisory Committee. [f her success and growth in my class is any indication of how she will perform in the available position, Raven will be an extremely positive addition to the city's council. If you need any additional information, feel Free to contact me by email at steve_mulvihillGiu ycjusd.us anytime.
Sincerely,
Mr. Steve Mulvihill
