RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAWAIIAN GARDENS
ADOPTING A REVISED SALARY SCHEDULE FOR EMPLOYEES WITHIN THE
AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES,
RANK & FILE UNIT AND FINDING THE SAME EXEMPT FROM THE CALIFORNIA
ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Hawaiian Gardens has approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the American Federation Of State, County, And Municipal Employees AFL-CIO, Local 3624, Council 36, Rank And File Unit (“AFSCME”); and WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of this MOU, a Salary Schedule for the AFSCME employees has been updated; and
WHEREAS, CalPERS regulations require that employee salaries be included on a publicly approved standalone document with a Salary Schedule; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Council to adopt the Salary Schedule at a publicly noticed meeting.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Hawaiian Gardens City Council as follows:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Hawaiian Gardens hereby approves and adopts the revised Salary Schedule attached hereto as Exhibit 1 and incorporated herein by this reference with an effective date of January 1, 2025.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
Section 3. This approval of the revised Salary Schedule is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) as there is no reasonably possibility that the MOU will have a significant effect on the environment pursuant to CEQA guidelines section 15061(b)(3).
ADOPTED by the City Council of City of Hawaiian Gardens at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 11th day of December 2024.
