• UPDATE: The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. If approved by the Planning Commission then this will be presented to the City Council at the March 3, 2025 council meeting.
Attended meeting on the upcoming Sierra Ponte Annexation on Friday, December 20, 2024. It appears that the planning commission will have the opportunity to hear information on the annexation in February. If the planning commission recommends approval, then it will be presented to the City Council at a later date. The Sierra Pointe Specific Plan will include a land area of 297.35 acres and will accommodate 901 dwelling units and 1,118,069 square feet of commercial space at build out. If the specific plan is ultimately approved it is anticipated that build out of this area could take between 10 and 20 years.

• UPDATE: The City Attorney’s office sent in a comment letter expressing some of the concerns the City has with the project and has started to have conversations with GSNR staff to see if there are things that can be done to make improvements along the railroad corridor that runs east and west through the City.
Golden State Natural Resources announced that the 90-day review period for the DEIR for the rail project that began October 22,2024 will now end on January 20, 2025. Our planner and City Attorney will prepare a response expressing the City’s concerns with the project by the January 20, 2025 due date. Held meeting with the City Attorney and City Planners to discuss the increased rail activity running through Oakdale. We continue to receive complaints about noise and late-night activity from the neighborhoods that are adjacent to the railroad tracks.
We have been notified that there is a project in Tuolumne County that may cause more trains to pass through town. This meeting was held to develop a game plan to respond to the Draft Environment Impact Report that will be released to the public on this project very soon.

The reporting party advised that the male seemed incoherent. The male was quickly detained when officers arrived on scene. Officers observed the male swaying back and forth nearly tripping. The male was escorted to the patrol vehicle and officers noticed slurred speech, a strong odor of alcoholic beverages on his person, and his eyes appeared to be bloodshot.
