Disclaimer
Photometric analyses performed by CJS Lighting are intended or informational and/or estimation purposes only. Using industry-recognized software, calculations correspond to the information pr ovided to CJS Lighting, and are subject to the limitations of the software and the information received. Assumptions may be made for information that is not provided or available. It is the responsibility of the end-user to consult with a professional engineering advisor to determine whether this design meets the applicable project requirements for lighting performance, safety, suitability and effectiveness for use in a particular application. End-user environments and application can cause field performance to differ from the calculated photometri c performance represented in this lighting design.
Due to the above considerations, CJS Lighting does not guar antee that actual light levels measured in the field will match initial calculations, and recommend that drawings be submitted to a certified electrical engineer for verification.

City Council Staff Report - Page 1 of 2
ITEM 12.1.
DATE: March 17, 2025
TO: Honorable Mayor and Council Members
FROM: Albert Stricker, Public Works Director
Drew Hart, Senior Transportation Planner
SUBJECT: ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN PROJECT UPDATE
RECOMMENDATION
Receive a presentation from staff on the Active Transportation Plan and provide direction on the vision statement and goals. Providing direction to staff would guide the development of the plan and focuses that align with City Council priorities.
RESULT OF RECOMMENDED ACTION
Staff will incorporate direction provided by City Council into the remainder of the Active Transportation Plan.
BACKGROUND
The City of Rancho Cordova Public Works Department received a grant from Caltrans to update the Pedestrian Master Plan (adopted 2011) and the Bicycle Master Plan (adopted 2016). Staff procured the support of the consulting team lead by Kittelson and Associates, and began the task of reviewing current city and regional plans, evaluating existing conditions, and engaging with the community.
Throughout Fall 2024, staff began engaging with the public in a few ways. In September, staff launched an online survey along with an interactive map soliciting feedback from residents about their experiences and ideas around walking and bicycling in Rancho Cordova.
Throughout the fall, staff attended nine community events where they listened to feedback and invited more comments through the online survey. Focus groups were held with key stakeholders. The largest effort was a public workshop held at City Hall on October 15, 2024, along with the General Plan Update team. Over 150 people attended the workshop where they provided feedback on their vision for a more walkable and bikeable Rancho Cordova.
In total, staff listened to over 1,270 people in the city. Staff prepared a presentation to share with City Council the themes of the feedback and present a vision statement and accompanying goals which will direct the remainder of the Active Transportation Plan.
FISCAL IMPACT AND FUNDING SOURCE
There is no fiscal impact.
