History of Santa Monica Community Recycling Center
1993 – 2019
- City of Santa Monica’s RRR collects curbside recycling material and delivers (tips) at Allan Company located on City property (2411 Delaware). - Allan Company (processor) processes (sorts and bales) recyclable material. - Allan Company loads and transfers recyclable material to recycling markets located in China and other facilities.

2019 – 2021
- City Yards Modernization begins. Allan Company’s recycling facility is closed. - City of Santa Monica’s RRR continues to collect curbside recycling material and tips at “new” tipping area located at southern part of Santa Monica Fire Department Training Center, where the former City Transfer Station was located.
- Southern California Disposal is contracted to load and transfer recycling material to American Reclamation, Potential Industries and Puente Hills. - These recycling processors get material ready and ship to recycling markets around the world.

2021 – present
- City of Santa Monica’s RRR continues to collect curbside recycling material and delivers to Culver City Transfer Station.
- Culver City Transfer Station loads and transfers recycling material to Potential Industries and Puente Hills.
- These recycling processors prepare recycling material and ship to recycling markets around the world.

- City of Santa Monica’s RRR continues to collect curbside recycling material and deliver to Hanson/SCD Lot.
- SCD loads and transfers recycling materials to Potential Industries and Puente Hills.
