Dear Council Members and city employees,
When I asked Oliver Chi if robots have more rights than residents, he said, "No." I have this on video.
Thank you for helping us to get Waymo to act like good neighbors.
There are over 500 people who have signed my petition on Change.org to reduce noise and the 24/7 driverless vehicles circling around our neighborhood.
If litigation commences, I'd like to see that they limit using the alley (12th Ct.) as an ingress/egress route for their operations and have them avoid accelerating or decelerating past my building at 1208 Broadway (since the Waymo car has a built-in sound effect that is triggered when slowing down or speeding up).
In general, I agree a sound being emitted to warn pedestrians is important but when it's past my window, I'm not fine with it.
They should just alter their routes when nearing/leaving their hubs (if they're not going to be dropping off or picking someone up from my or anyone's nearby apartment). If that means they'll have to drive somewhat inefficiently to get to their destination, so be it. When Waymo initiated "Operation Quiet as a Mouse", that should've also included when nearing or leaving their hubs (not just the back-up alert).
