City Council Members,
Please remove Item 4G from the agenda. A declaration or proclamation on this topic simply restates the obvious and creates additional work for staff without delivering tangible results. This pattern of symbolic actions consumes time and resources that should instead be directed toward real solutions.
Santa Monica’s homelessness crisis must be treated as the top priority. Until the homeless problem is meaningfully addressed, most of the other items on your agenda will have limited impact on residents’ daily lives.
