**WARNING** READ AND FOLLOW ALL NOTES ON THIS DRAWING!
**IMPORTANT** FURNISH THIS DRAWING TO ALL CONTRACTORS INCLUDING THE INSTALLERS Trusses require extreme care in fabricating, handling, shipping, installing and bracing. Refer to and follow the latest edition of BCSI (Building Component Safety Information, by TPI and SBCA) for safety practices prior to performing these functions. Installers shall provide temporary bracing per BCSI. Unless noted otherwise, top chord shall have properly attached structural sheathing and bottom chord shall have a properly attached rigid ceiling. Locations shown for permanent lateral restraint of webs shall have continuous lateral restraint (CLR), installed with diagonal bracing installed on the CLR per BCSI sections B3, B7, or B10, as applicable. Apply plates to each face of truss and position as shown above and on the Joint Details, unless noted otherwise. Refer to drawings 160A-Z for standard plate positions. Refer to job's General Notes page for additional information.

Alpine, a division of ITW Building Components Group Inc. shall not be responsible for any deviation from this drawing, any failure to build the truss in conformance with ANSI/TPI 1, or for handling, shipping, installation and bracing of trusses. A seal on this drawing or cover page listing this drawing, indicates acceptance of professional engineering responsibility solely for the design shown. The suitability and use of this drawing for any structure is the responsibility of the Building Designer per ANSI/TPI 1 Sec.2.

1520 Pine Street
Requesting exemption for separate

proposed ADU
November 14, 2023
Agenda Item #15.2.

Page 563 of 568 ends

Water Service System Code

13.04.050 (C) Water service connections—Installation generally C. Multiple Connections Prohibited Generally. No one service connection shall supply water to more than one premises.

17.116.030 (G) Fees
C. …all ADUs and JADUs that are not covered by subsection (G)(2)(b) of this section require a new, separate utility connection directly between the ADU or JADU and the utility.

13.04.050 (D) Water service connections—Installation generally D. If under particular circumstances it be determined by the city council that it be impracticable to install one service connection for every premises and advantageous to the department to furnish water to more than one premises through one service connection, then water may be so furnished by the department.

1520 Pine Street
Agenda Item #15.2.

Page 565 of 568 ends

1520 Pine Street
Applicant has applied for a building permit to
install a new 300 square foot ADU.
• The applicant is requesting an exemption to the
requirement to install separate water and sewer
connections to the existing mains in Pine Street.
• The applicant petitions that the existing utility
connections to the property have sufficient
capacity to serve the new ADU.

Agenda Item #15.2.

Page 566 of 568 ends

1520 Pine Street
Applicant’s Proposal:
• Connect new onsite sewer pipe to existing sewer lateral. • Connect new water meter/service line for ADU to the existing service between the existing meter/main.

Agenda Item #15.2.

Page 567 of 568 ends

1520 Pine Street
Public Works recommends the grant of an exemption for additional water and sewer connections due to the following considerations:
• Relatively small size of the ADU (i.e. 300 SF) with a projected increase of 60 gallons per day.
• The cost to install separate utilities may exceed 25% of the overall project costs.
• The applicant has provided an Engineering Report demonstrating the performance sufficiency of existing service connections. • Installation of a water service for the proposed ADU to be connected to the existing water service as proposed.

Agenda Item #15.2.
