City Council Staff Update
July 8th, 2026
From: Nick Showalter, IT Director
Prepared by: Nick Showalter, IT Director
Agendized by: Dr. John J. Murphy, City Manager
For June 2026, the Information Technology (IT) Department has the following report:
New Website Project
The new website project with Revize moved into the Site Review Phase (Phase 7 of 9).
The new website is built with migrated content. IT Staff will be working with Communications staff to review the navigation, layout, and content and make any final adjustments. IT Staff will be scheduling the next phase, which is Training with Revize.
Revize has administrator and editor trainings scheduled for mid-July.
Audio/Video – Emergency Operations Center (EOC)
IT Staff prepared the operator workstation as well as the wired and wireless input devices that will be used in the EOC. IT Staff will be working with the system integrator, Solutionz Inc., in mid-July to complete the configurations needed on the EOC equipment to make it fully operational. Training on operating the system is also scheduled for mid-July.
Audio/Video – City Council Chambers
IT Staff were notified by Solutionz Inc. of delays in receiving hardware for the City Council Chambers audio/video system upgrade. Completion of the project has been delayed by extended lead times for specialized audio/video and networking equipment.
These delays are the result of broader supply chain constraints affecting the technology industry and are outside of the City's control. Staff are working closely with the vendor to oversee the equipment orders. For SB707 Compliance, IT Staff will be using supplementary hardware with the existing audio/visual system to incorporate two-way communication.
Microsoft 365 Mailbox Migration Project and Licensing
IT Staff deployed security configurations to accounts and have been testing them with departments with success. IT will continue deploying security configurations to the remaining departments.
Fire Station Network Connectivity Enhancements
IT Staff implemented new secure connections and configurations to enhance network connectivity and capacity at Fire Stations 31 and 34.
Camera System Design Input
IT Staff are continuing to provide input during weekly meetings with Municipal Services and Public Safety staff hosted by the company, Guidepost Solutions, for the camera system design project for City parks and well sites.
Enterprise Permitting and Licensing Software
IT Staff received a final process list from Development Services that has been sent to Tyler Technologies regarding permitting workflows. A meeting to review this is being scheduled with Tyler Technologies.
Completed IT Requests*
IT staff completed 124 requests for service during June 2026. *Resolved requests shown are estimated and do not include ad hoc phone and verbal requests or certain long-term projects.
