The City is phasing in technology to remotely collect water meter reads and operational data from the City's 32,000 meters. The current system requires field staff to "drive by" the existing meters throughout the City to obtain readings. The implementation of the AMI system will provide the capability to access meter data information in real-time and improve operational efficiencies.

Modification of existing bioswale drainage at the Ontario Municipal Services Center (OMSC).

Heavy rains have caused water intrusion into the OMSC building resulting in flooding of communication conduits that are located within the bioswale. Heavy rain also causes flooding in the employee parking lot which causes pedestrian accessibility problems.

This project will mitigate the flooding by pumping standing water out of the bioswale before it reaches critical elevation.

The computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system, utilized by City of Ontario Public Safety Dispatchers in our Fire and Police Communication Center, is used to: prioritize and record incident calls; identify the status and location of responders in the field; and effectively dispatch responder personnel. Public Safety responders in the field can receive messages initiated by CAD systems via their mobile data terminals (MDTs), radios, and cell phones.
