The additional work was for a total amorint of $120,242, wliich is summarized below.

The Hawkins Reservoirs had two art murals on the water reservoirs. Recoating the reservoir required their removal. A new City logo will replace the existing mural on the north reservoir facing Firestone Boulevard. It will be the City's name with the new brand. A new art mural will be painted on the south reservoir facing the Urban Orchard as part of the Urban Orchard Project.
The cost of neither was included in the Project. The proposed artwork to be included in the Project is only for the north reservoir. The artwork on the south reservoir is budgeted as a part of the Urban Orchard Project.
BACKGROUND: TheCityownsandoperatesamunicipalwatersystemthatprovidesdrinking water to approximately 90% of the City residents and businesses. The municipal water system is equipped with several drinking water storage reservoirs and regular maintenance and upkeep is essential to meet drinking water qriality and reliability standards. The Department has a long-term water storage reservoir maintenance program to recoat steel water storage tanks and install seismic upgrades and cathodic protection systems.
On April 25, 2023, the City Council approved Contract No. 2023-54-CC with UFSC for the construction of the Hawkins North and South Tanks for the amount of $3,432,764. Majority of the additional work in the Change Order was included in the alternative bid items as these items would not be determined to be needed until the construction work began. The new contract amount for UFSC will be $3,631,230.
Constniction Change Order (CCO) No. I and CCO No. 2 were administratively approved on July 25, 2023 and September 26, 2023, respectively. CCO No. l added silt rings to both tanks to bring sand and silt from migrating back into the pipe and CCO No. 2 added cathodic protection to both tanks, modification of the flush clean-out and cost for unforeseen condition that required filling a underground void with concrete slurry.
Constniction of the project is scheduled to be completed in June 2024. 2 450

SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF CONTRACT WITH DELL, QUADBRIDGE AND SHI HQ
FOR PROCUREMENT OF CITY SERVER AND STORAGE AREA NETWORK SAN UPGRADE.
PURPOSE: To approve the procurement for a server, SAN (storage area network) licensing, professional services, and support procurement with Dell, Quadbridge and SHI HQ.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: The City Council will consider:
a. Approving the procurement for a server, storage area network (SAN), licensing and professional services from Dell, Quadbridge and SHI HQ, in the amount of $326,776; and b. Authorizing the issuance of a purchase order to Dell, Quadbridge, and SHI HQ for infrastructure hardware and professional services.

Quadbridge (Dell) 179018 Hardware, Professional Services andWindows Data Center 269,197.43 SHI 24724674 VMware 3-yr License 24,291.84
SHI 24424837SQL Server Standard Core Licensing 33,286.40 FISCAL IMPACT: This procurement amount of $332,000, was included in the Fiscal Year 2023/24 Adopted Budget.
ALIGNMENT WITH COUNCIL GOALS: On January 28, 2020, Council recognized the Technology Master Plan ("TMP") prepared by ClientFirst Technology Consulting. The Server Virtualization and SAN upgrade were included in the accepted TMP to improve the City's server and storage infrastructure and services.
ANALYSIS: The current server and storage infrastructure hardware is antiquated, and server operating systems are out of date and support. The City has recently sustained at least two complete server failures. This procurement of hardware, licensing, support, and professional services will employ several Cooperative contracts. Dell, Quadbridge (NASPO Contract#COOOOOOOO6679), 1 457
and SHI HQ (SQL Server Licensing RIVCO-20800-001-1 1/19) contains a piggy-back clause, and California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS #3-23-04-1001) allowing government agencies to take advantage of the purchasing power.
The City currently has twenty-five (25) network servers that perform specific functions, such as:
* Enterprise Resource Planning (Financials)
* Online billing
* Cashiering
* File Sharing
* Print Serving
* Administration of Section 8 Housing
* Public Works maintenance Management System
The above applications will be migrated from their current physical servers to the new virtualized server and SAN solution.
BACKGROUND: The City uses Dell for server procurement and existing servers and storage range from eight to twenty years. Dell is the primary manufacturer for its City desktops and laptops leveraging Dell's imaging assist tool for imaging. The current infrastructure has greatly exceeded the recommended replacement life cycle of 5-7 years.
Expected benefits of the new server and SAN solution include:
* Data Isolation and Improved Security
* Vendor Supported Hardware
* Update to Current Operating Systems
@ Scalability
* Faster Deployment of Server and Resources
* Resource Optimization
@ Disaster Recovery

SUBJECT: APPROV AL OF CHANGE ORDER #2 FOR INST ALLATION OF A NEW SOUND SYSTEM FOR THE SPORTS CENTER.
PURPOSE: The purchase, delivery, renovation, and installation of audio equipment at the City of South Gate Sports Center and Swim Stadium.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: The City Council will consider:
a. Approving Change Order #2 of Sports Center and Swim Stadium Audio project for electrical work with installation of projectors and wireless microphone capabilities in the amount of $7,045; and
b. Appropriating General Funds in the amount of $7,045.
FISCAL IMPACT: The fiscal impact for the completion of the new sound system for the Sports Center is a remaining $7,045 which will come from the General Fund.
BACKGROUND: The Sports Center was built in 1976 and the buildings audio system is currently outdated and inoperable. The main body was replaced in the late 1990's, however it is almost 30 years old. Even if the system did work, we would not be able to utilize it, as we do not have CD's or Cassette tapes to put in it. Upgrades will include Bluetooth capability, video playback for fitness room and upgrades in the sound system. In addition to playing music for fitness classes, the system will be utilized to make announcements during emergency situations or building evacuations for both the Sports Center and Swim Stadium.
The change orders have increased the total amount to over 20% of the originally requested PO, thus requesting Council's approval. Change order #1 in the amount of $16,874.71 provided microphone capabilities in the Swim Stadium and added another projector with screen to Sports Center. Change order #1 was an 18% total increase to contract amount. Change order #2 in the amount of $7,044.36 provides the required electrical upgrades for projectors, screens, and wireless microphone capabilities added to basketball gymnasium. Change order #2 increases the total contract amount to $118,068.72, 25% over original PO. We are requesting council approval for final payment of Sports Center and Swim Stadium Audio project.
