PUBLIC NOTICE
Public Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held before the City Council of the City of Roseville for the purpose of considering the following:
WEED ABATEMENT HEARING
On March 5, 2025 pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 9.20 of the Roseville Municipal Code, the City Council of the City of Roseville adopted Resolution No.25-XXX declaring that all weeds as defined in Section 9.20.010 (C) (1) of said chapter and all dirt, rubbish and/or rank growth, as defined in Section 9.20.010 (C) (2,3,4) of said chapter, of any kind on private property, or in any street or alley abutting any property, constitute a public nuisance which must be abated by the destruction or removal thereof.
All property owners, lessees or occupants of buildings, grounds or lots shall, without delay, destroy or remove all such weeds, dirt, rubbish and/or rank growths from their property and half of the abutting street and alley, if any, between the lot lines, as extended, or such weeds, dirt, rubbish and/or rank growths will be destroyed or removed and such nuisance abated by the city authorities, in which case the cost of destruction or removal will be assessed upon the lots and lands from or on which, or abutting the streets and alleys from or on which, such nuisance was abated, and such costs will constitute a lien upon the lots or parcels until paid and will be collected on the next tax roll upon which municipal taxes are collected.
All property owners having objections to the proposed abatement of the nuisances are hereby notified to attend a meeting of the Council of the City of Roseville to be held on April 16, 2025 at 6:00 o’clock p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in the Civic Center Council Chambers, 311 Vernon Street, Roseville, CA, where and when all objections will be heard and given due consideration.

Project Title: 2024 Weed Abatement Project
(Resolution Declaring Weeds and Rubbish a Public Nuisance) Project Location(s): City-wide throughout Roseville
Project Description: The City of Roseville Fire Department proposes to notify property owners of vacant parcels, within the City, that a potential fire hazard exists on these parcels. If corrective action is not taken by the property owner the City’s Fire Department will proceed with weed abatement activities including, mechanical mowing, trimming, and other methods of weed removal.
Public Agency Approving Project: Roseville City Council Agency/Individual Carrying Out Project: City of Roseville Fire Department Reason why this Project is Exempt: This project is applicable to Class 4 Categorical Exemption as described in Section 15304 (i) of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) guidelines which states:
“Class 4 consists of…minor public...alterations in the conditions of land which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees…including but not limited to…fuel management activities…”
