Cities Index.
Bill check · Default products

Who chose your default electricity product? beta

Most community choice aggregators sell more than one product, and each member city's council picks the one its residents get unless they choose another. This table lists every member city of a CCA with more than one product: the default today, what it costs a typical household and a CARE household against the CCA's cheapest product and against the utility, and the council decisions about it found in the city's own documents — each linked to the page on this site. 60 of 178 cities have a default that costs more than the CCA's cheapest product.

An estimate, not a bill. The typical bills here are copied from the joint rate comparisons each CCA and its utility must publish; each one links to its source. Rates change several times a year, so check the source before you decide. Comparisons fetched 2026-10-20. beta

Bills: the typical monthly bill on the comparison's most common plan (PG&E E-TOU-C, SCE TOU-D-4-9PM, SDG&E TOU-DR1), the chip is the difference from the utility. Council record: decisions about the default product read from the councils' agendas, minutes and staff reports by a language model and checked by a second, stronger one; each was kept only when both agreed and the quote shown was found word for word in the document. A city with no record may still have decided — not every city's documents from that year are in the index.
